Session Intro
Before the 2v2s
Session Notes
Vicor Nevella is clouted AF. Their appearance at the colosseum is met with cheers from the crowd (the people love them).
Hotter Hugo’s Introduction
Theld’s backstory is given as follows:
- TODO: Write out his dream sequence
Key points from Theld’s dream:
- Camilla made him some “special” drink?
- He was sweet on Steinhardt’s sister, even to the point of disrespecting the man himself to his face
- Waron, Ludwig, and Leyia were there!? (By description)
- “Wolves’ ashen on high!”
- Steinhardt’s sister Talia upon trying Theld’s drink, brewed specially by Camilla.
- Theld appears to be a militia innitiate, while Talia is a member of the blood cross, specializing in autopsies.
Following his dream, he finds himself surrounded by beasts and blood, with a broken steel sword embedded partially in his thigh, with the handle in a nearby corpse.
- He appears to have been revived by the blood moon?
- His flesh stitching back together as he rips out the blade.
He pries both halfs, and the two fuse together when he grabs the handle, with some golden spider webbing stitching the two back together (cursed or blursed as heck?)
And with that, he begins making his way through the beast lands towards the breach in the city wall.
- The one from the train)
Jaeger Meister Calvin is the first to meet him in the Paterna Iter district. Being unable to see him though, assumes he is some beast, initially attacking him.
- He’s rather surprised/taken aback however when Theld manages to block his attack!
After a brief exchange, Calvin clocks Theld’s older manner of speech, and his questioning of what the heck happened to the city, and the enlarged size of the beasts.
- ”Ash & Moon” - Theld
Asks if he’s a member of the Victorian Masonia Guild
- he hasn’t heard of this before, which is apparently infamous, as of the 2nd moon. Due to him not being knowledgeable about the state of the city and whatnot, and given the direction he came from (destroyed train station), Calvin assumes he was a member of our party, and allows him passage to the Sanctified District to join the events for safety.
Marinus encounters Chet Duley
Marinus uncovers Chet selling some sort of product to Derrek of all people.
- Purchasing a purified form of Dragon’s Blood, with dangerous arcane effects Presumably to be used in the 2v2, or for some other nefarious (terrorist-esc?) purposes
Marinus threated Chet under the cloak of his darkness with a dagger to his throat.
- In his scraggly attempts to find an excuse for Marinus to let him go (while bawling), he lets it slip that his mother has Serpent’s Kiss, an illness of sorts from the Shrouded District presumably?
- Could be total BS, but intuition tells me this might actually be this character’s motivation for being a skeevy drug dealer on these mean streets.
The group finds out they can’t leave the Sanctified district
Cello offers her mansion as lodgings so long as no one disturbs Minerva Gershwin’s rest.
Traveling to Minerva/Cello’s place
Upon making their way over to Cello’s place, the groups notoriety starts to draw a small crowd! People begin whispering amongst themselves given the groups recent performance in the tournament.
So naturally Dur’zoga decides to do a flip (with Waron’s support), to entice the crowd!

The crowd goes wild, begins chanting “Retten”, much as they had done in the colosseum. It is at this point, that Narissa feels a slight tug on her leg…
Narissa pulls a gun on an Orphan
Having felt a slight tug on her leg, Narissa whips around and without missing a beat points her gun directly at the culprit… Who is an adorable small child with heterochromia.
In a flash, the little girl goes from wearing a look of excitement and awe, to one of sheer horror, and begins to cry and run away.
- So Narissa “persuades” (intimidates) her to stop in place, having already scared the poor thing to try and apologize and make things right. The girl stops, terrified, and Narissa approaches her again, awkwardly trying to be gentle, and calls Waron over asking for his help in soothing the girl.
The two attempt to console the child, and Narissa offers her autograph upon noticing the crinkled paper and charcoal in the little one’s hand, to which she delightedly agrees.
It’s at this point that the child’s guardian, Ophelia shows up, and apologizes for the commotion. Waron assures her it’s no problem, and apologizes for members of the group having scared her accidentally.
In addition to the autograph, Narissa gifts the girl a silver bullet (Waron chiming in about how special it is).
- The girl’s eyes light up with admiration once more Narissa, after realizing what Waron is doing (it takes her a second) leans into it, and begins telling the girl about how silver is effective against scourge, and that it’ll protect her when she needs it most.
- Upon receiving this info, the little orphan girl’s admiration is overflowing, acting as though this is some grand information that Narissa is sharing with her and only her. At this point Ophelia attempts to pull the girl back to give us our space, however she asks for another autograph.
- Ophelia protests the girl, stating they couldn’t possibly trouble us any further, but Waron insists it’s alright and that they don’t mind
- Probably presuming he’s going to be asked for his autograph, to which Narissa goads him on, knowing he’s likely to be unable to write his own name Waron asks the little girl if she would like his autograph sweetly while kneeling in front of her, and with the sweetest, most innocent look on her face, she says “no thank you, I want hers!” and points to Dur’zoga, the Champion of the 1v1s.
- Waron’s heart shatters into a million pieces
- Dur’zoga is elated, and happily obliges, though she struggles to eek out her name, a small bead of sweat notably forming as she scratches our her name on the paper.
Ophelia thanks the group, noting that they are a rare sort of people around here. Both strong, and good.
Ophelia asks Waron to give Thokk her best
- She’s related to him in some way? Or potentially a past lover?
The group then continues along to Cello’s mansion
Cello enters her mistress’s chamber’s to check on her
The fungal growth has spread all over the room. Minerva’s body lay still in her bed, heart still beating slow but strong.
With a notable half fungal tiara having grown out the split in her head.
Waron & Narissa have a chat on the Balcony
Narissa confronts Waron about figuring out his past
Though she does dunk on Ludwig, claiming she doesn’t think he has Waron’s best interest at heart, or that he’s only using him somehow.
- Waron brings up how Ludwig is like a brother to him To which Narissa seems to take negatively, siting her own family’s harshness.
Waron probes Narissa about her family
He asks her about her prior reaction to the nickname “Nari”, and if there is anything she prefers to go by so he can avoid offending her in the future.
- ”Riss”. She tells him to call her Riss, and explains a bit about how her elder siblings degradingly called her “Narcy Nari”, hence the reaction. It elicits some not so great memories.
She’s initially resistant to the question being asked directly, so Waron brings up the young girl from earlier… Asking if she has any such younger siblings that look up to her like that little girl.
- Brief flashback to her younger brother insert_name, staring at his burnt hands in pain. She rejects this notion, claiming her parents made certain none of her younger siblings would ever look up to her.
- Waron apologizes, having not realized how bad her circumstances may have been family wise.
Though mentions sometimes people come across another sort of family… a found family if you will. Where people choose to care for each other despite not necessarily being related by blood, and expresses how he thinks of the group as his sort of family, as well as Ludwig and the other Paladins.
- Her reaction to this is actually quite sweet
She ends up offering to teach Waron
